ÀLEX CASSANYES   &  OPEN  JAZZ  COLLECTIVE

This piece is not a typical arrangement, is a suite of 9 different tunes from 9 different composers. The length of each micro-piece is just one minute. (9 minutes for everything) I tried to use John Hollenbeck’s technique called «Organic Composition», but I sometimes reinterpreted that technique.

I didn’t use the full elements of each tune, sometimes I chose just one bar, firs part of the melody, the flavour and the sensation of the tune, some voicings, some chords, etc. I wanted to show the most significant thing that I have been attracted from each composer.
